Stack will be unveiling innovative new developments in Digital Video Recorders (DVRs) and Tire Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS) at this year's PRI Show. Both are the result of in-house engineering projects, which have been developed specifically for the requirements of the most extreme motorsports environments.
Stack DVR Stack’s second generation video recorders have the same quality, reliability and compact design of the original Stack Harsh Environment DVR, but at a price and with specifications focused specifically for the competition motorsports market. Stack’s new Digital Video Recorders are available in three variants:
PRO-4 DVR For high quality, multiple camera input video recordings on the move, the miniature solid-state PRO-4 Digital Video Recorder (DVR) provides the optimum solution and is specifically designed for the motorsports environment. The DVR employs broadcast standard MPEG2 video compression to record very high quality video and audio direct to a Compact Flash (CF) card. This card can be removed with ease and played on a PC or laptop using a standard media player application. Recordings can be archived direct to DVD for playback on a standard DVD player. The PRO-4 DVR has 4 camera inputs and a 4-input multiplexer, allowing virtually any combination of 1 to 4 camera images (composite PAL or NTSC) on one screen, with configurable scaling, cropping, positioning and picture-in-picture.
The PRO-4 DVR is housed inside a rugged, fully waterproof enclosure, specifically designed and manufactured to protect the unit from the motorsport environment. The unit is compact and durable with no moving parts (other than the sealed flash card access door), and is capable of operating where normal VCRs or DV recorders are not. The PRO-4 DVR can be used as a stand-alone multiple camera DVR, or as part of a fully Synchronized Video-Logger system, complete with modular data acquisition from 8 to 128 channels. Being a fully waterproof unit, and operating from 32º-158ºF, the PRO-4 DVR is ideally suited for all types of motorsport, from Formula 1 to karts, bikes to boats, and many more applications.
PRO DVR The PRO DVR has all of the features of the PRO-4 DVR above, but with only 1 camera input.
Clubman DVR The Clubman DVR is perfect for all forms of club and semi-professional motorsport. It has all of the features of the PRO DVR, but utilising commercial connectors to provide exceptional value for money. The Clubman DVR is not waterproof and operates from 32º-122ºF.

Based on patented SAW sensor technology, the problems associated with mounting batteries and complicated electronics in sensors on wheels have at last been completely eliminated. Accurate tire pressures are a proven performance enhancer, delivering consistent performance advantages in all levels of motorsports. Dynamic tire pressure monitoring while out on the track allows the team to optimize tire performance over the whole lap and run.
Each wheel sensor comprises of a .08” (2mm) thick x .47” (12mm) diameter SAW pressure/temperature sensor, an RFID tag and an antenna, all in a .63” (16mm) diameter x .55” (14mm) cylindrical housing.
SYSTEM FEATURES – STACK’S TPMS · No battery or complicated sensor electronics - providing unrivalled reliability · No user maintenance required during full service life – significantly lower total life operating costs · Detect slow punctures long before the driver feels them, and long before catastrophic tyre failure · One module interrogates 1, 2 or 4 wheels – suitable for cars, trucks and bikes · Models available with 1Hz, 5Hz, or 10Hz sampling · Specialist high sampling rate modes – up to 40Hz on one wheel · Supports virtually unlimited number of wheel sets · Secure operation – each sensor has a unique serial number to ensure other teams cannot interrogate it remotely · Compact, lightweight module – 3.94” x 2.75” x .6” (100mm x 70mm x 15mm); 4.94oz (140g) · Pressure and Temperature data output on user configurable CAN bus Both products continue Stack's tradition of leading the way in the innovative use of new technologies and provide our customers with advanced, quality engineered products at all levels of Motorsports |
